Where it earns its keep
- Permanent structure, not a expiring promo - it survives your first month
- Automatic on all live accounts; PAMM and demo excluded, rules stated plainly
- 100 TRP welcome grant plus missions and crystal boosters for acceleration
- Top-tier earn rate is 60% richer than entry (400 vs 250 TRP / $1M)
- Kenyan clients sit under CMA licence no. 155, not an unregulated shell
- Prize ladder spans small electronics to $500K cash - not one trophy for one trader
Where we stay skeptical
- No published TRP→shilling rate; catalogue values are set solely by HFM
- Value scales strictly with volume - micro-lot beginners accrue slowly
- Boosters are instrument-specific and capped (800 TRP / $1M maximum)
- Headline prizes (supercar, $500K) are marketing-weighted toward tiny odds
- Volume-based rewards can nudge traders into overtrading - a real cost
- Level thresholds are defined inside the Rewards Centre, not on the promo page

How the HFM Loyalty Program TRP Points Actually Work

Strip away the marketing varnish and HFM's loyalty programme is a volume rebate paid in points. Every closed trade on a live account generates traded volume; every million dollars of that volume mints Trophy Road Points - TRP - at a rate set by your level. PAMM and demo accounts are excluded, which is the programme quietly telling you it rewards committed capital, not practice clicks.
The structure launched as a successor to HFM's older HFPoints scheme - the Bronze-to-Platinum tiers and in-house shop you will still find described in ageing reviews. Those numbers are retired. Today there are four levels, missions that pay bonus TRP, and crystal boosters that can double the earn rate on selected instruments, capped at 800 TRP per $1M.
| Level | Earn rate | vs Rookie | Editor's note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rookie | 250 TRP / $1M | baseline | Entry level - every live account starts here and receives 100 TRP on joining. |
| Rising Star | 300 TRP / $1M | +20% | Unlocked through eligible live trading activity across all your live accounts. |
| Pro | 350 TRP / $1M | +40% | Mid-tier earn rate; PAMM and demo accounts do not contribute volume. |
| Legend | 400 TRP / $1M | +60% | Top tier. Crystal boosters can double the rate on selected instruments, to a cap of 800 TRP per $1M. |

03 · The beginner's math
What "$1 million of volume" means when you trade small
Many beginner forex traders hear "million" and assume the HFM Loyalty programme is not for them. It is a units problem, not a wealth problem: on major forex pairs, one standard lot equals $100,000 of traded volume, so ten standard lots close the million. A trader placing 0.50-lot orders twenty times a month has already moved $1M. The ledger below converts the headline rates into the sizes beginner forex traders actually use.
Ledger · Rookie level
Read that last pair honestly: at micro sizes, the 100 welcome TRP outpaces months of accrual. The programme's real economics begin once your monthly volume clears roughly $1M - which is exactly the volume where spreads and commissions start mattering most. More on that in the critique.
04 · Run the numbers
Estimate your Trophy Road Points Before you Trade
Drag your typical trade size, set your weekly frequency, and watch the four earn tiers respond. It is the honest way to decide whether the programme moves your needle.
The KFF TRP estimator
How many points would your trading earn?
Assumes major FX pairs where one standard lot ≈ $100,000 of traded volume. Gold and indices carry different notionals, so treat outputs as an order-of-magnitude guide.
One standard lot of a major forex pair equals one hundred thousand units of traded volume.
Count only closed positions. 10/week ≈ 43/month.
Crystal booster active
Doubles the earn rate on selected instruments, capped at 800 TRP per $1M - HFM's published maximum.

HFM does not publish a TRP→shilling exchange rate - redemption happens against a trophy catalogue, not a cash counter. We won't invent one.

The no-deposit bonus didn't die of kindness. It died of arithmetic.
Ask any forex broker why the $30 no-deposit bonus vanished and you'll hear the polite version - regulatory harmonisation. The truthful version is on their P&L. An NDB attracts precisely the customers a broker least wants: people optimising for the bonus rather than the market. They open mirrored accounts, hedge opposite positions across them, churn the required lots, and withdraw whatever survives the profit cap. The broker pays the spread rebate twice and books the abuse as marketing cost.
Regulators handed the industry cover to stop. ESMA banned bonus inducements for EU retail CFDs in 2018; the FCA followed for Britain; ASIC restricted trading bonuses in Australia from March 2021. Compliance gave brokers the exit, economics made them take it. What remains in 2026 - Tickmill's $30 welcome account being the best-known survivor - ships with 60-day windows, withdrawal conditions and identity checks designed to make abuse unprofitable again.
A short history of free money
2008-17
The golden age: $25-$100 'free' credits are the industry's default acquisition weapon. Bonus hunters industrialise the abuse - hedged accounts, churned lots, withdrawn credits.
MAR 2018
ESMA's product intervention bans bonus inducements for EU retail CFD clients. The FCA transposes it for the UK months later.
MAR 2021
ASIC's intervention order strips trading bonuses from Australian retail accounts. The last major regulator falls in line.
2022-24
The discontinuation wave: brokers retire NDBs outright or repackage them as deposit-match credits with heavy volume gates.
2025
HFM replaces HFPoints with Trading Rewards - the Road to Legend, missions and crystal boosters. Retention beats acquisition.
2026
Today: a handful of offshore $20-$50 credits survive behind profit caps and expiry windows. The mainstream has moved on.
Notice what replaced the No-deposit bonuses industry-wide, and at HF Markets specifically: points that only exist if you trade. The forex broker's incentive flipped from acquiring tourists to retaining residents. That is not generosity - it is the same arithmetic that killed the bonus, wearing a trophy.
06 · Head-to-head
Loyalty points vs. the ghost of the NDB
| Dimension | HFM TRP LoyaltyAlive · permanent | No-deposit bonusMostly extinct |
|---|---|---|
| Status in 2026 | Permanent, core retention programme at HFM. | Extinct at most major brokers; a few offshore $20-$50 credits survive. |
| What you actually get | TRP on every closed trade, redeemable against a trophy catalogue (cash to $500K, electronics, vacations). | A one-off $20-$50 credit you can trade with - never withdraw directly. |
| Deposit required | Yes - a funded live account. TRP accrue automatically on volume. | No. That was the entire pitch. |
| Withdrawal friction | Redeem via the Rewards Centre once you hold enough TRP. No lot targets tied to withdrawals. | Profits typically locked behind volume requirements (e.g., X lots per $ of bonus), profit caps and 30-90 day expiry. |
| Value over time | Compounds with your real trading - higher levels earn up to 60% more per lot. | Fixed ceiling, spent once. Capped profit (often ~$100) ends the story. |
| Regulatory posture | Standard volume-based reward; offered by a CMA-licensed Kenyan entity (licence no. 155). | Banned for EU/UK retail (ESMA 2018, FCA), restricted in Australia (ASIC 2021). |
| Who wins | Consistent traders who would trade anyway - the rebate is found money. | Bonus hunters and testers. Brokers priced it out for exactly that reason. |
"The no-deposit bonus paid you to arrive. The loyalty programme pays you to stay. Brokers learned which of the two they can afford - and so should you."

07 · The critical part
Where HFM Loyalty Points Fall Short
A review that only applauds is advertising. Three reservations matter for a beginner. First, opacity. HFM publishes earn rates but not redemption prices - the trophy catalogue sets point values unilaterally, and it changes. If you cannot price a point, you cannot compute a true effective rebate; you can only trust that the next shelf of trophies will be fair. We would rather see a published TRP floor, and we docked the transparency subscore for its absence.
Second, the overtrading nudge. Every volume-based reward programme - HFM's included, and this desk has reviewed dozens - quietly rewards trading more, not trading better. Industry disclosures put retail CFD losses at 70-80% of accounts. If chasing Rising Star nudges you from twenty trades a month to forty, the extra spread will almost certainly cost more than the extra TRP return. Your plan leads; the points follow, or they don't.
Third, the prize pyramid. The supercar and the $500,000 headline are marketing architecture, not expected value. Most members will touch the smaller shelves - electronics, credit-sized rewards - and should value the programme on those, not on the billboard. Judged on its realistic shelf it is a solid rebate. Judged on its billboard it is a lottery. It is a rebate.
Who should skip it: anyone who trades a few micro lots a quarter. Your welcome 100 TRP will sit there like an unread gift card, and no programme justifies increasing risk to use it. The loyalty programme is a reason to choose HFM if you were going to trade anyway - never a reason to trade. Read the full HFM Kenya review.

HF Markets' Loyalty Program Questions that Beginners Ask
It is HFM's permanent Trading Rewards programme. Every closed trade on a live account earns Trophy Road Points (TRP) - 250 TRP per $1 million of traded volume at Rookie level, rising to 400 TRP per $1M at Legend level, with crystal boosters that can double the rate on selected instruments up to 800 TRP. TRP unlock trophies in the Rewards Centre, from electronics and luxury vacations to cash prizes of up to $500,000. New members receive 100 TRP on joining, and missions add extra TRP along the way.
Yes. HFM operates in Kenya through HFM Investments Limited, authorised by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) as a non-dealing online foreign exchange broker under licence no. 155 - a listing you can verify on the CMA's public licensee register. Kenyan clients with live trading accounts join through the Rewards Centre in their client area or the HFM app.
HFM's earlier HFPoints programme - with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers and an in-house shop for cash credit - has been succeeded by the Trading Rewards 'Road to Legend' structure built around TRP, four levels from Rookie to Legend, missions and crystal boosters. If you read an older review quoting HFPoints conversion rates, it describes the retired scheme.
TRP are not cash, and HFM does not publish a fixed TRP-to-currency exchange rate. Points are redeemed against a trophy catalogue whose contents and point prices vary, which is exactly why this review refuses to print a shilling-per-point figure you'll see on less careful sites. The honest framing: TRP lower the effective cost of your trading, but their redemption value is set by HFM.
Two forces ended the era. Regulators acted first - ESMA banned bonus inducements for EU retail CFD clients in 2018, the FCA followed in the UK, and ASIC restricted trading bonuses in Australia from March 2021. Then economics did the rest: brokers absorbed heavy abuse through multi-account hunting, hedged opposite positions and churn arbitrage. The few surviving offers carry volume requirements, profit caps and expiry windows that most traders never satisfy.
For anyone who trades, usually yes. A loyalty programme rewards real, ongoing volume with no expiry countdown and no withdrawal traps, while a no-deposit bonus is a capped one-off gated behind lot requirements and profit ceilings - most never convert it to withdrawable cash. The honest trade-off: loyalty value only accrues if you trade, and trading leveraged CFDs carries a high risk of loss.
The principal risk is behavioural. Because accrual is proportional to traded volume, any points programme - HFM's included - can quietly reward overtrading. Industry disclosures put retail CFD losses at 70-80% of accounts, so extra volume usually costs more in spreads and commissions than it returns in points. Treat TRP as a rebate on a trading plan you already had, never as a reason to add one.
